Fruitful night for Harborough Schools at Awards Ceremony

The South Leicestershire School Sports Partnership (LSLSSP) and Active Harborough recognised local heroes at the virtual South Leicestershire School Sport and Well-being Awards on Wednesday 1st July.

LSLSSP supports education professionals and provides opportunities for all young people in South Leicestershire to ensure that well-being, physical activity, school sport and PE is at the heart of school life. LSLSSP support 82 schools in South Leicestershire and works in partnership with the Oadby and Wigston Borough Council, Harborough District Council and Blaby District Council.

The popular event, hosted by LSLSSP and main sponsor for the evening Everyone Active, was viewed by over 400 people to celebrate school achievements across the South Leicestershire. It was broadcast on the LSLSSP YouTube channel and can still be viewed. To view the full ceremony click here.

Nominations for the awards were made by school and individuals across the South Leicestershire, and an independent panel of judges made the difficult final decisions within each category.

Partnership Development Manager at LSLSSP, Hussein Khan said, 'We were delighted to host the virtual South Leicestershire School Sport and Well-being Awards. It has been a difficult year, LSLSSP wanted to recognise the amazing achievements and resilience of students, staff and schools in Harborough and South Leicestershire. This was this first year we tried to host the event virtually, we are delighted the event was a success. There are some truly inspirational young people, school staff and schools in Harborough. Congratulations to all the nominees and winners. We are proud of all 82 schools in South Leicestershire. I would like to thank our partners at Active Harborough for all the support and help '
