Physical Activity Development Officer
Who you are: Leanne Plummer
I am a sports mad individual who loves all things Leicester when it comes to spectating, including LCFC, Tigers, Riders Basketball and Foxes Cricket. I am also a Miami Marlins Baseball Fan. In my spare time I can also be found tooting my trumpet.
What is your role?
I am a Physical Activity Development Officer. The main aim of the role is to increase physical activity opportunities for residents of Harborough, by enabling individuals and communities to be responsible for their own health through volunteering, grant support for project and facilities, partnership working and encouraging behaviour change.
I have been in the role for 11 years across different local authorities and organisations including Oadby & Wigston Borough Council, Blaby District Council and Leicestershire & Rutland Sport.
What sport/ activity do you enjoy?
Growing up I was particularly involved in Football, Hockey and Rugby, with Rugby being my big passion. However, few people return unscathed from Rugby so following some major injuries I now focus my time on Hockey during the Winter, playing for Charnwood Sileby as a goalkeeper and Softball during the Summer, playing for the Leicester Royals Softball Club, along with the odd round of Golf.
