FaME: Falls Management Exercise Programme
What is it?
A 24 week exercise programme designed to help individuals increase their strength and balance and therefore reduces the likelihood of falling.
The programme is a self-referral.
The 24 week programme includes:
- Tailored seated and standing exercises
- Floor exercises (if appropriate)
- Strength exercises using bands, balls, light weights and techniques for getting down and up from the floor
How much does it cost?
'After four weeks into the course it became noticeable that the continued movements had freed the muscles of my left side considerably'.
'Having attend the programme I can now reach further up my back with both arms and I can turn easier'.
