Claybrooke Primary School Dodgeball Team

Claybrooke Primary Year 5/6 Dodgeball Team - Winners of the Year 5/6 Dodgeball Tournament at Lutterworth College (Pre-current COVID restrictions)

"As a small school of 68 children putting a team together for any tournament is very difficult. Claybrooke School loves a challenge and the year 5 and 6 came together and trained hard for the dodgeball tournament. Every lunchtime they played dodgeball, taking it in turns to referee, swapping teams so that everyone had the chance to play. At their request an afterschool dodgeball club was set up and the eager children turned up every week. Their passion and perseverance was incredible and two teams were put together for the tournament. Team A mostly made up of year 6s (only 7 children in the whole year group) won all their games in the rounds. They kept focused and determined and made it to the finals against Gilmorton, a big school. The game was tense but Claybrooke did not give up, the teamwork was outstanding and every bit of the years training was paying off. At last, tournament after tournament Claybrooke did not have to take 3rd or 4th position. They won. this meant a lot to each and every one of them and I feel they deserve to be recognised for their hard work and the challenge of making a winning team from a very small school."

Well done everyone!
